my first corolla

In January of this year (2008) I was looking for a new car. I had a toyota tercel that was burning oil like there was no tomorrow. I had always heard toyota built good cars. I went to a few dealerships that sold cars in my price range. I came across this 95 green corolla that was in mint shape. It only had 110 000 miles on it. As soon as I saw that I thought "that engine is barely broken in". I took the car out for a test drive. It was very comfy, the handling was great. I bought the car a couple of days later. I have now had the car for 6 months and other than average maintence (2 front tires and windshield repair) nothing has gone wrong with the car and it is 13 years old. The fuel milage is AWESOME. When my tank is full I can get 124 km on a 1/4 take highway.

MY NEW COROLLA

IN JANUARY THIS YEAR 2008 I BOUGHT MY FIRST COROLLA 1.4 PROFESSIONAL. I HAVE ALWAYS DRIVEN A TOYOTA HATCH BUT THIS YEAR I DECIDED TO UPGRADE TO A SEDAN, NOW I LOVE MY TAZZ BUT THIS SEDAN IS IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN. IT IS SMOOTH, IT IS QUIET, IT IS ECONOMICAL IT IS BEAUTIFULL, CLASSY WITH LOTS OF LUXURIES i.e GREAT FEATURES IT BLEW ME AWAY ALL THESE MAGIC BUTTONS TO OPERATE.
BUT THE BEST PART WAS MY BOSS MISTOOK MY TOYOTA FOR HIS MERCEDEZ NOW THAT IS TELLING WHAT A GREAT LOOK THE CAR HAS.
I CAN ONLY SAY I LOVE MY CAR, I AM PROUD OF IT I THINK IT IS SIMPLY THE BEATS.

My First Corolla

Wow! How amazed I was when I first saw the new Corolla in 2007. I was wondering about looking for a new car to replace my old faithful Grey Tazz, so... I wondered to other makes & test drove them, but still my heart longed for that "All New Corolla". While I was working one day, my father conveniently dropped a comment telling me he test drove the new Corolla, and of'course I was green with envy, but I gave him that satisfaction! He was so in love with it, just forgetting about my mother! Anyway, so the time came near & I was on my way signing for the other make car, then the phone call came, it was my Dad! He said very calmly How about the new Corrolla? Without a doubt I said "YES!" Thank Goodness for that phone call. It was like my "Toyota Guardian Angel" telling my Dad to phone his daughter & preventing her from buying a mistake. We phoned around & ordered 2 Corolla's - One for Me (YEAH!) & one for my mother. Now, I never saw the car really close up, but already I knew that I would be satisfied from the start. On that special day, I simply could not wait anymore. I phone my Dad propably 20 times to beg him, so we can fetch the car! Eventually we arrived at Toyota & I felt like a being in love again with butterflies in my tummy! The sales lady handed the keys to me & I actually started crying, coz how beautiful is this new car - Only so amazing! I got in my new Corolla & started screaming with joy! I was so proud of my new Corolla & it made me feel so good! Today, my car has brought me so much memories & enjoyment that I would not trade it in for anything else! Alles loop reg, altyd reg - Toyota!

COROLLA ALL GONE

Mom came round the corner and there i was waiting after school to be pick up. she pulled up in her shiny blue silver Toyota.

That's the car i told myself i would get one day. in 2006 i wanted a new car and i had my heart set on the Toyota Corolla. There she was and she was blue silver just like the one my mom used to drive.

This was my adult car. the car that took me over to a new begining of my life.
It was all taken away from me last week. my husband was leaving for work when he noticed it was GONE. someone had broken in and taken it.

I am VERY heart broken. I loved that car. My Corolla ROCKED

Hello! Very recently my 2006

Hello! Very recently my 2006 Corolla has developed a rattle sound when I put it into reverse on a cold start. The minute I shift into Drive the rattling stops and I've tested the Reverse gear after driving the car for a bit and it's fine.

I'm not sure what's wrong as I've just had my car serviced (oil, etc) last month. Should I take it in?

My kinders sal ook nog in die motors rondry.

Most bland brand

What a tired motor car, the most bland looking piece of rubbish on our roads.

Anyone can make an engine that hardly can rev over 3000rpm and then state that its a reliable car. The most modern piece of electronics on a Toyota is probably electric windows.

Bland and boring, like their drivers.

?

So what do you drive ?

Simple mindedness

Ja, who wants to drive a car that is super reliable and has excellent resale value.. Get yourself a Renault/Peugeot/Fiat = I'll be waving at you when you get stuck with mechanical/electrical/confusional problems alongside the road on a rainy afternoon = driving my ultra reliable Corolla!! ;-)

New Corolla really lovely car

I bought a 94 Bubble shape Corolla 160i with A/C but unfortunately no power steering but a great car.Bought it on 130k and drove for five years without a single problem. Then the wife started to drive and no power steering was a bit of a problem and I then reluctantly sold on 250k and got hold of 200Sti Sentra..damn another great car but kept it for 2 yrs as too many youngster were stopping me and wanting to buy it as it was still pristine and original. Then I started looking but the Corolla before this was not an option cuz the look just didn't do it for me.I then bought a 2003 Megane hatch.had it for 2 yrs then the current shape Corolla was unveiled in 2007.I quickly got rid of that Renault and rightly so cos they(Renault) are going one way and that is down.I fell in love with the this shape instantly and on top of it was a Toyota..I mean u know everything just keeps going right ,and just had to have it.I was probably one of the first 1.6 Advanced Corollas in 2007 and nogal black too driving around in Cape Town wherever I drove heads were turning.Even my neighbor thought it was a Benz that's how cool the shape is man.So yeah I love the car,Space, luxury, user friendly, big boot etc.Downside underpowered 1,6.I think Toyota should`ve given it a bit more power and why, why, why Toyota no locking of doors on driving off.I believe the model before this had so why not this.A basic safety feature. But overhaul great car.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Corrolla 1.6 Adv. M-MT

After extensive research on the car and especially the gearbox, I bought a new Corolla 1.6 Adv. M-MT in July this year. At the time I was very nervous about the decision, because I knew that Toyota had a number of complaints and problems with the M-MT gearbox when it first came out on the Verso around 2005. The sales people however assured me that all problems was solved on the new generation M-MT gearboxes.

At the moment my Corolla has around 15500 km on the clock and it is definitely one of the best vehicles, or maybe the best vehicle, I have ever driven (I know it is still early days, but I have confidence). Definitely not an old man's car, as some people might think. The versatility of the M-MT gearbox provides a number of driving options from full automatic to manual, in traffic and on the long road, depending on the situation. The automatic sports mode is fantastic. I use every single option in my daily commuting from home to work and it has definitely improved my driving fatigue levels.

All I can say is, congratulations Toyota, on an excellent product (car and gearbox).

Corolla

I am a representative in the agricultural sector, my customers are spread over a wide area, from Brits all the way to Musina (at the Zim border)

Due to the travelling, anything from 6 000-10 000 km's per month i have driven a wide array of cars under which the following.

1.9 TDI polo(74kw), this was a awesome little car ,powerful, with very good handling for a car this size and diesel use was frugal.
I had a shock however when the injectors had to be replaced at 190 000 km's an the dealer quoted me R23 000-00 not cheap!

After this i drove a Mazda 3 1.6 Dynamic , and so it was ! The only problem i had with this car was that I frequent gravel roads and the ground clearance was not as good, and being a petrol slightly under-powered as i was used to the diesel.(This is not comparing apple's with apple's i know!)

I changed company and my car then was a 1.6 Polo Sedan , all i can say for a similarly priced car as the Mazda it was disappointing. Road-holding was poor , the drive was harsh and there was plenty of wind noise.
At this point I have to state the car had 117 000 km's under the belt when I received it, and i do not know how it was driven in the past.
This car has now done 218 000km's and I have had a few niggles with it, or shall I say the dealers service...

I am receiving my new car next week , a D4D corolla. I am very exited at the thought of driving a diesel car again and looking forward to the better comfort of a bigger car for the open road.
I hope to give you a monthly update on my ventures.

Regards

180 Exclusiv

I have owned 8 Corollas in the last 10 years all brand new the best ever is the new 1.8 Exclusiv 6sp manual. My one can give the Mercs a wacking. I love it. It rocks. It has got everything.

Just be aware that you choose a decent dealership to service your babe. My one is black and smart. This is the first car I have decided to keep for 3 years or more. Well done Toyota.
It will be tight for 10 000 km. Be patient when you pass BMWs.

Dear Mr. CR LALL

You've obviously never driven or rather stepped foot in a BMW

My car gone

My husband surprised me with this silver grey Toyota Corolla 180i sprinter - it drove like a dream. Trips to Durban were so enjoyable. I went inside the Gym one morning when I came out it was gone. I miss it soo much. I don't think I will ever have a car like that again.

My Corolla

It is reliable, spacious inside and is the ideal size for UK roads & UK parking spaces. I have driven the current model of the Corolla. Compared with the previous model, it looks boxy and feels cramped at the wheel. Rear vision is poor due to the box-like shape.

Our Corolla 130 brought us many lovely memories

Me and my wife got married in 2001. Our eldest son was born in the same year. At that time we drove a Renault 5 coupe. We decided that we will have to upgrade to a family car and the first thought was for a Toyota Corolla. We bought our blue Corolla 130, 1997 model in December 2001. We bought our house 3 years later and our family grew with 2 more children and we are still driving our blue Corolla. All our friends have bought new cars in the mean time and keep on asking us when we will upgrade again? We know the time has come to make a change, but we have grown to love our car and thus makes it difficult to make the change. We can't imagine to change the brand because we love driving our Corolla. Our fondest memory was the time when we drove up to Bloemfontein in January 2002. We drove from Kimberley to Upington and after many kilometres noticed the bright fuel light staring at us. We were in a panic as there was no cars on the road and no garages in site. After 72 kilometres with a very scary bright fuel light we made it to the nearest garage in Pofadder. Our Corolla 130 has a 60 litre fuel tank and the petrol Attendant told us that we still had 10 litres of fuel in the tank left, because it took 50 litres of petrol to fill up the tank again. That was our "Wow" moment, and never doubted our blue Corolla. Today, after 380 000 kilo's still going strong.

Cooool

In May 1970, the E20 was restyled with a more rounded body and the 1400 cc T and 1600 cc 2T OHV engines were added to the range. The now mutually exclusive Corolla and Sprinter names were used to differentiate between two slightly different treatments of sheet metal and trim. The Corolla Levin and Sprinter Trueno names were introduced as the twincam version of the Corolla and Sprinter respectively.
