I've always wanted to do an advanced driving course. The idea of having complete control over my vehicle (no matter what the situation) kind of intrigues me. I've always had a deep respect for people that have done these courses. I always feel safer in the car when the person behind the wheel has been trained to drive by professionals. My greatest disappointment has always been that most of these courses are run in German manufactured automobiles. Although the principles remain the same, I've always felt uncomfortable with the idea that the car you're learning these new skills in is not something that might be sitting in your garage at home.  read more »

Toyota is all about safety. The introduction of advanced driving lessons further attests to this fact. Toyota Advanced Driving (TAD) aims to enhance your safety on the road.

This is achieved in the course by simulating events you're likely to encounter on the road on a day-to-day basis and how to deal with them.

TAD courses on offer are Introductory 4x4, Advanced 4x4, Defensive Driving, Onroad/Offroad, High Performance, Dynamic handling and Hijack Prevention.

The TAD course also makes use of something called a Skid Monster, which is a South African-first. This is a simulator that allows the training staff to drive with learners in a controlled situation which makes use of a set of castering wheels that are capable of rotating 360 degrees.  read more »
